Infection Policy
We practice the highest standard of Infection control in accordance the latest guidelines and standards of the Australian Dental Council (ADA).
Infection control is of prime importance in this practice. It is essential to the safety of our patients, our families and us. Every member of staff receives training in all aspects of infection control.
All staff are appropriately immunised and monitored. Gloves are worn wherever there is a risk of exposure to blood or body substances, which is almost always the case i.e during every procedure.
An autoclave is a steriliser which uses steam under pressure to achieve a rapid high heat sterilisation of instruments. We use autoclavable equipment and instruments. Otherwise we use disposable items wherever possible. The general standard of infection control in all our surgeries is excellent.
We spend an average of about $25,000 (approximate) per year per dentist on implementing responsible infection control measures.
Dentists and patients wear protective eyewear during procedures where splashing, splattering or spraying of blood or other body substances may occur.
We are at all times improving the level of care we provide for you in a safe sterile environment.
All our staff attend further education courses on a regular basis.
